In the winter of 2017, Maryann Newcomb was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Maryann was about to finish high school and then take a gap year in Costa Rica as an exchange student. Her diagnosis came as a shock, but Maryann began treatment and fought hard and was supported by Women in Business and the Four Diamonds Fund.
In the summer of 2019, Maryann finished her treatment and was able to spend the summer as a camp counselor. She is currently a junior at Elon University in North Carolina.
Women in Business is also lucky to know her parents -- Celeste and Brian -- and her two younger siblings -- William and Alexandra. Along the way, the Newcomb family has inspired us with their incredible support and strength.
